We are very pleased to announce the 2023 OPUS Composition Festival results. Thank you to everyone who submitted entries, and special thanks to our judge this year, Houston-based composer, Joel Love (www.joellove.com).
The winners in each age category are:
Elementary: Elijah Fan, student of Caroline Ahn, The Monster Under My Bed
Junior: Henry Olson, student of Caroline Ahn, A Timely Passage of Lonliness
Senior: Noah Strawhacker, student of Amanda Cornet, Nocturne in Db Major
Young Artist: Miles Carroll, student of Don Freund, Halves and Pairs
The winners in each age category will have the opportunity to perform their composition at the IMTA State Conference in the fall of 2023 at Anderson University and will receive their entry fee paid in full by IMTA into the state round of the MTNA Composition Competition in September 2023.
